EP05 – Dustin Rabin

This week world-renown rock and roll photographer Dustin Rabin joins the Light Artists podcast! We discuss his journey into the genre, and we get a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes world of photographing musicians. Interestingly, we also get into some of the myths, prejudices, and misconceptions often associated with the “wild” life of musicians.

About Dustin Rabin

For almost 30 years, Dustin Rabin has been documenting some of the most influential artists in music, chronicling their performances throughout their careers. Dustin has had rare access to musicians who have helped shape popular music, including Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Beastie Boys, Faith No More, Queens Of The Stone Age, Billy Talent and Refused.

Dustin was personally invited by Paul McCartney to photograph him on a leg of his 2011 tour, and during private rehearsals in 2017. He has worked regularly with Dave Grohl since 1995 and had the honor of being the only photographer with Nirvana during rehearsals for a one-night-only performance celebrating their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Dustin Rabin was born and raised in Victoria, BC, Canada, and has called Toronto home for 20 years.
